Ideally we are looking for someone who has their PA1/PA2 spraying certificates however it could also be a great opportunity for a trainee with the right experience/aptitude to gain their spraying certificates as full training can be given.
During the spraying season your main duties will be as a sprayer operator working with plant protection products. We have a fleet of New Holland tractors with front and back tanks, Scorgie booms, GPS, auto-shutoff and variable geometry and take with us 6,500 litre bowsers.
Outwith our busy spraying season, you may be asked to undertake other agricultural contract work such as assisting with spring and harvest work, soil sampling and slug pelleting.
In the winter months there is maintenance to be carried out on machinery and equipment, so an interest in workshop skills would be desirable. In addition you will be involved in general duties including collection of products and keeping the chemical store and workshop tidy.
We have an excellent reputation with our customers, so to fit in to our business we are looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work and has an interest in arable farming.
Health and safety in the job is important and you will be provided with appropriate PPE and health and safety training. The job will involve some manual handling so it is essential that you have a good level of physical fitness as some carrying and lifting will be required.
Our business is seasonal and there are times which are busier than others so you must be willing to work paid overtime during our busy season, but this is compensated with generous holidays, a shorter working week outwith our busy season and a flexible approach to time off.
If you think you would enjoy working in a close-knit, flexible and friendly team then why not give us a call to discuss further.
